Website speed and Core Web Vitals.

date: 14 Aug, 2026

Fast loading is not about a score — it is about customers not leaving before they read.

Vietnamese customers mostly browse on phones over mobile networks, so real speed on real devices matters more than a score in a tool. A page that loads in two seconds on a laptop can take five on the street. Measure on a slow connection, not just office wifi.

Watch three things: how quickly the main content appears, how fast the page reacts to a tap, and how much the layout shifts. In plain terms, the main content must show up early, the page must respond the moment it is touched, and elements must not jump around.

Images are the heaviest thing on most websites. Compress them, serve them at the size they are displayed, and use a modern format such as WebP. One multi-megabyte image can slow a whole page even when everything else is optimised.

Limit fonts and third-party scripts. Every extra font file and every embedded snippet costs speed. Keep only what genuinely measures results or serves customers.

Autoplaying background video and heavy animation look good during design review but rarely earn their weight on mobile. If you keep them, load them after the main content has appeared.

Set fixed dimensions for images and containers so the layout does not jump while loading. People tap the wrong button when elements move, and that directly reduces the number of inquiries.

Your server and where files are stored affect speed directly. Use hosting with a presence near your customers and enable caching at a CDN layer. For most small business sites this is the cheapest, highest-impact change available.

Speed also affects search. Google uses real-world experience data, and visitors leaving early is a bad signal. Fast pages win in both ranking and conversion.

Check speed again after every content addition. New content usually arrives with large images and embeds, and performance drifts down over many updates without anyone noticing.

Do not chase a perfect score. The target is a site fast enough for people to read and tap, not a flawless number in an audit tool.
